What We’ve Done

Established in 1998, the My Stuff Bags program began as a response to a cry for help from the very people who rescue and care for abused, neglected, abandoned, and homeless children. Caregivers described children arriving in just a dirty t-shirt and with nothing of their own. With agencies simply unable to provide any basic childhood necessities beyond food and safe shelter, the My Stuff Bags program was created to address this unmet need.

As word of the program spread, requests for the duffels poured in. As people nationwide sent donations of new children’s items and funding, what began around the kitchen table grew to a 7,000 square foot warehouse operation that to date, has provided over 650,000 My Stuff Bags to children in over 1,500 agencies in 50 states.

The My Stuff Bags Foundation supplies the duffels free of charge, helping agencies to allocate their limited resources toward their primary role: rescuing and providing a safe haven to children in danger.

But our work is far from over. The crisis of child abuse, neglect, and homelessness is ongoing, and we continually need donations of crucial funding as well as new children’s items to ensure uninterrupted delivery of My Stuff Bags to children in crisis.
