WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA (9/8/2014) –  My Stuff Bags Foundation is thrilled to announce that it has been selected by Shop2Care, a new not-for-profit online charitable shopping program, as one of its first cause partners. An initial grant from the Shop2Care Foundation of $5,000 will cover direct program costs for providing individual My Stuff Bags for 225 children who have been rescued from abuse, neglect and abandonment across the United States. Shop2Care chose the My Stuff Bags Foundation as a partner due to its strong collaborative programming, proven community track record, and high social return on investment.

My Stuff Bags Foundation anticipates that it will be the recipient of thousands of dollars of future donations from Shop2Care members as they determine how to direct the retailer rebates generated from their normal online shopping behavior.  All of this will occur at no additional cost to the member, but will have a significant impact on the issue of at risk children.

“We are so grateful that Shop2Care has chosen to join us in our mission of providing childhood necessities and comforts to abused and neglected children entering shelters and foster care with nothing of their own,” said Janeen Holmes, president and CEO of My Stuff Bags Foundation. “Through this partnership, and the rebates consumers direct to children, we will be able to reach thousands more with the gift of their very own My Stuff Bag filled with new belongings and new hope.”

Shop2Care founder, Mark Asofsky, a dedicated philanthropist, adds, Shop2Care donates consumers retailer rebates, when directed by members to do so, to nonprofit agencies that create significant impact on specific areas of need in the United States. We believe that My Stuff Bags Foundation will be a strong cause partner, helping Shop2Care powerfully and positively impact the issue of long term life outcomes for high risk children.

Shop2Care’s partnership with My Stuff Bags Foundation is described in more detail on the Shop2Care website, at www.shop2care.org in the Cause section under Children.

About My Stuff Bags Foundation

The My Stuff Bags Foundation was launched in 1998 to address the immediate physical and emotional needs of children who must be rescued from abuse, neglect and abandonment.  Traumatized by the events leading to their rescue, these children often enter shelters and foster care with no belongings; most rescuing agencies lack the resources to provide basic childhood essentials.  The Foundation fills this gap with My Stuff Bags, individual duffels stuffed by volunteers with new, donated age and gender appropriate items such as toys, clothes, toiletries, school supplies and a blanket. My Stuff Bags not only provide necessities for these children, but also gives them comfort and hope and lets them know that many people care about them. Since its inception, My Stuff Bags Foundation has distributed over 460,000 My Stuff Bags to 1,400 partner agencies across the United States.
