Dear My Stuff Bags Foundation

On behalf of the staff and children of Christ Child House, we would like to thank you for your generous grant contribution of 45 “My Stuff” bags. One of the worst things for youth in foster care is having to move their belongings form home to home in garbage bags or plastic grocery sacks. It is embarrassing, demeaning, and yet another reminder of how little they have in this world. As one woman quoted in a North Carolina newspaper stated, “When you put all of someone’s’ belongings in a trash bag, it sends a message that they’re trash and they should be thrown away.” Having a special bag of their own to carry their “stuff” will instill and reinforce to the boys that they are not “trash bag” kids that should just be thrown away.
