Snuggle® Launches Snugs Across America to Spread a Touch of Love and Softness

Fans Invited to Join the Movement to Share Snugs on Facebook and Help Donate Up to 10,000 Snuggle Bears to Children in Need

WILTON, Conn. (June 21, 2012) Led by the iconic and loveable Snuggle Bear, fabric softener brand Snuggle announced today the launch of Snugs Across America, the brand’s first-ever movement to inspire people to spread love and softness. According to a recent survey by Snuggle, 85 percent of Americans agree that hugging and snuggling is how they show people they care. Snugs Across America encourages people to surround themselves with softness and share a snug, a combination of a snuggle and a hug. And, in exchange for snugs shared on Snuggle’s Facebook page, the brand is pledging to donate up to 10,000 stuffed Snuggle Bears to children in need.

“By joining me in a snug, we can help make each day happier for children in need,” said Snuggle Bear. “Snugs are an easy way to spread snuggly softness with loved ones. And remember, every snug counts!”

Reasons to Share a Snug

Sharing snuggle-up moments with loved ones makes a difference. According to a recent survey, 94 percent of Americans agree that snuggling with loved ones makes them feel happy. Snugs Across America is aimed at spreading happiness and positivity throughout the country, and more than nine-in-ten people surveyed agree that “sometimes, they just need a snug.”

Make Each Snug Count

As part of Snuggle’s commitment to inspire consumers to create more snuggle-up moments, Snuggle has pledged to donate up to 10,000 15-inch Snuggle Bears to children in need, with a minimum donation of 5,000 bears, by December31, 2012 to Hugs Across America, Toys for Tots and My Stuff Bags. For every ten snug photos uploaded and shared on Facebook through November 1, 2012, Snuggle will donate one Snuggle Bear to a child in need.

This online survey was conducted March 7-12, 2012 by IPSOS among a nationally representative sample of 1,030 adult consumers – 530 females and 500 males – ages 18+. The margin of error associated with a sample of this size is 5%.

About My Stuff Bags

My Stuff Bags Foundation is a national non-profit launched in 1998 to address some of the immediate physical and emotional needs of children who must be rescued from abuse, neglect and abandonment. Traumatized by the events leading to their rescue, these children often enter shelters and foster care with no belongings. Each individual My Stuff duffel bag is filled by volunteers with new, donated items, such as toys, toiletries, school supplies, a stuffed animal and a security blanket, giving children comfort and hope and letting them know that lots of people care about them.
